Healthcare provider helps A&E backlog with new contract

HEALTHCARE support firm OneMedicalGroup will be helping to alleviate the pressures on A&E after winning a competitive multi-million pound tender for the new NHS Urgent Care health centre with a patient support hub.

The three year contract will see the Leeds-based group run the Derby Urgent Care Centre with a branch service at their existing health centre, St Thomas Road Surgery.

The new contract will see the NHS services alleviate pressure on local A&E departments.

The sites are projected to see over 72,000 patients a year, delivering care for patients with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The OneMedicalGroup has a £42m healthcare property portfolio, an annual turnover of over £10m and has seen over 2.7 m patient contacts, since inception.

The independent group hasover 250 staff, and delivers NHS contracts and GP premises support services including management and centralised back office functions, across the UK.

Rachel Beverley-Stevenson, chief executive of OneMedicalGroup said: “As a team we are thrilled to win this new expanded multi-site contract in Derby.

“We will use our experience in the area to maximise engagement with patients, clients, staff and NHS commissioners for a new generation of better healthcare premises and services.

“We look forward to building on our hard work to deliver excellent quality, patient centred care to the Derby community.”

An X-Ray service will be introduced at the main site and a dedicated patient education resource, which will advise the public on how to manage their health and wellbeing, providing information on specific health concerns and tips on improving patient lifestyle.
