Construction group to deliver £20m home refurbishment scheme

LOVELL has been awarded a two-year contract to carry out £20m of improvements to homes managed by Chevin Housing Association.

The construction group, which has its regional office in south Leeds, will deliver the refurbishment programme across Yorkshire.

The first year will result in major work on 565 homes, which will include new kitchens and bathrooms, rewiring, installing heating systems, re-roofing work, and replacement windows and doors. The contract will also result in 12 apprentices being recruited in the first year.

Work is now under way on the housing association’s whole house improvement programme which will also create significant training opportunities.

Lovell regional director Robert Adams said: “The improvements to homes will make a real difference to the lives of tenants.  We are also proud to be providing apprentice training opportunities locally through our Lovell Legacy commitment to creating a lasting legacy of positive change in communities.”
