Seven West Yorkshire pubs go up for sale

SEVEN West Yorkshire pubs have been put up for sale on behalf of the administrators of Cal Management Limited and Calco Pubs Limited.

The trading public houses are located in Leeds, Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield, and advisers CBRE believe they offer investors “huge potential to expand their portfolios within the Yorkshire region”.

Sam Frankland, director at CBRE Leeds, said: “The specialist markets team is excited to bring to market a diverse selection of public houses to suit a variety of purchasers looking to invest in existing businesses with strong potential. With realistic sale prices, we anticipate these properties are likely to sell quickly.”

The team highlighted two pubs as being particularly attractive – the Suburban in Bingley, which has been trading for more than 10 years and remains a highly profitable business with considerable scope to increase trade and value, and the Manor in Chapel Allerton, which offers scope for restaurant operators wanting to obtain space in this affluent suburb.

Separately, a £250,000 refurbishment of The Slug and Lettuce in York has been completed and will re-open tomorrow.

The Swinegate pub will hold its launch party next Friday, when one customer will win a £500 diamond.

General manager Laura McMahon said: “The brand new bar is stunning and to top it off we will be combining it with all that is great about Slug and Lettuce. We can’t wait to show our regular customers our brand new look.”
