Leeds brewing supplier aims to crack the micro-market

A NEW Leeds business has started manufacturing machinery to crack the micro-brewing market.

The small team of engineers at Brewology, who have 17 years experience altogether in the industry, saw a gap in the brewing market for cask filling machines, and set out to become the only UK firm to do so.

Managing director David Midgley said: “There is currently no one making cask fillers in the UK and we were receieving calls on almost a daily basis asking for them.

“We’ve been in this industry many years, working with other companies and manufacturers.” he said. “We know our customers and spent time asking them what was important to them and what they needed in their brewery.

“The machines we manufactured are an accumulation of everything we have learnt over the years.”

The new ranges were designed and manufactured in the new Brewology factory in Leeds and launched this month.

The firm says that they use minimal water for washing, controlling waste and keeping costs down.

In less than a year, Brewology has completed a major brew house project for the C&C group, which makes Bulmers, Tennants and Blackthorn cider, and has worked with major brewing firms, installing and servicing machinery.
