Awards: Joshua Ellis, John Holland

WEST YORKSHIRE textile mill Joshua Ellis, has won the Textile Business Award at the UK Fashion and Textile Awards.

Joshua Ellis has been manufacturing cashmere and fine fabrics for nearly 250 years. 

The firm works with Chanel, Bottega Venta and Ralph Lauren and is part of the Seal Group of companies.

Managing director Jayne Woodthorpe said: “Britain’s fashion and textile industry is thriving and we faced extremely tough competition in our category.”

“This award highlights the fact that a continuing emphasis on innovation and excellence is ensuring that our business continues to be relevant today, exporting Yorkshire cloth around the world.”

“It is a tribute to the skill and dedication of our local workforce, our high quality standards and the mix of traditional and new manufacturing techniques we use to create our pioneering luxury textile products.”

Sheffield car dealer John Holland has been nominated for another industry award.

The firm, based on Meadowhall Road, has been nominated in the Used Car Retailer of the Year category at the 2015 Motor Trader Industry Awards.

Owner Mark Holland said: “It is brilliant news for John Holland to be nominated for another national award so soon after our Dealer’s Dealer of the Year Award win. I’m very proud of all the staff for this achievement.

“Hopefully we can bring another national award back to Sheffield. To be recognised by two different awarding bodies as the nation’s best car dealer would be a fantastic achievement.”

Following a judge’s visit, findings will be reported back to the full panel of judges before all award winners are announced at the Motor Trader Awards gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s West End on Wednesday July 8.
