Riverside hotel completes £9m revamp

A RIVERSIDE hotel in York has completed a five year, £9m refurbishment programme and has more investment in the pipeline for 2016.

The Park Inn by Radisson on York’s riverside has begun a £500,000 upgrade of its rooms, and new investment will allow a restaurant to be added to the hotel’s offering, as well as further meeting rooms and facilities for the business community.

General manager Sally Hughes said: “The £9 million programme over five years and the group award of Hotel of the Year shows how highly regarded we are here in York.

“This has been a huge investment in the city, which will see us become the next generation Park Inn – offering local businesses and visitors a truly world-class experience.

“Although many of our bedrooms were only refurbished three years ago, we will be upgrading 110 of the rooms again next year to ensure that the hotel remains one of the most comfortable and modern places to stay in York.

“The recent renovation of our bar and meeting area, with floor to ceiling windows giving guests unrivalled views of the riverside, has attracted a lot of attention already.

“We recently hosted the very successful launch of Make it York, which was attended by the Lord Mayor and over 300 delegates from local businesses.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for people to see behind the façade and see what Park Inn by Radisson York City Centre has to offer.”
