Law firm’s latest acquisition continues growth strategy

SWITALSKIS SOLICITORS has added another law firm and location to its group as it continues to expand through acquisition.
It is merging with Honley Law Practice, based near Huddersfield, which will trade as newly-merged firm will trade as Switalskis Solicitors incorporating Honley Law Practice from July 1.
The deal follows Switalskis’ recent acquisition of Steel & Co in Boston Spa and Knaresborough in June, and is part of an ongoing strategy for growth, which is being backed by a funding deal from Yorkshire Bank agreed in March.
The recent acquisitions have increased the firm’s locations to 12 and it is on schedule to open a flagship office on Swinegate in the centre of York later this year.
John Durkan, managing director at Switalskis, said: “In recent years Switalskis has been building upon its reputation for delivering expert legal advice across a wide geographical area. This latest merger reinforces our position as a major Yorkshire law firm, able to offer a personal, face-to-face service to all clients.”
Principal solicitor at Honley Law Practice, Julian Taylor, who founded the firm in 2002, added: “This deal means local residents can now benefit from wider range of legal services whilst enabling the team to maintain the high level of service and personal approach our clients have come to expect.”
The Honley Law Practice team, comprising of three lawyers and three legal support staff, will become part of Switalskis’ team, which includes 19 directors and more than 200 staff.
