Insurance firm changes hands as founder retires

SHEFFIELD-BASED Ladbrook Insurance has changed hands for an undisclosed sum after its founder decided to retire.
Martin Ladbrook started the insurance broker, which focuses on charities and other third sector organisations, in Dinnington in 2000. He has sold the business to Tim Larden, who is the former head of commercial at Endsleigh Insurance.
Mr Ladbrook said, “It was important to me, after 15 years working with a loyal team, that I found a buyer that would allow the business to continue in its current form.  I am delighted that the future of Ladbrook is bright and clients will continue to enjoy the high levels of service we have always provided.”
Mr Larden added: “After five successful years with the Endsleigh Commercial team, I was seeking an opportunity to lead and own a new business.  The third sector in the UK has doubled in size since Ladbrook was formed in 2000 and there are lots of community groups in this region.”
