Appointments: Gateley, Muse Developments, Adair Paxton

LAW firm Gateley has promoted a trio of associates in its Leeds office.

Corporate recovery specialist, Matt Leech has been promoted from associate to senior associate, alongside residential development lawyer, John Kiff.

The company has also promoted corporate recovery solicitor, Oona Cassidy to associate.

Head of Gateley Plc’s Leeds office and corporate recovery partner, William Ballmann, said: “I am delighted for John, Matt and Oona. It’s an incredibly exciting time for the firm as we start our journey as a public company but also for the Leeds team as we continue with our growth plans and building on the success we have already achieved in our first few years in the Yorkshire market.

Gateley Plc’s shares started trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange on Monday, 8 June. The company raised £30 million as part of its listing on AIM and was valued at £100 million on first day of dealings.

Andy Smith of Muse DevelopmentsURBAN regeneration firm Muse Developments has expanded its Leeds office with the appointment of Andy Smith as senior project manager.

He has helped deliver valuable mixed-use developments for Ask Property Developments, Select Property Group, HBOS plc, and Christal Management.

Muse’s schemes across the region include the 110-acre manufacturing and industrial development Logic Leeds, and Doncaster Civic and Cultural Quarter.

David Wells, Muse’s regional director for Yorkshire, North East and East Midlands, said: “It’s an extremely busy time for us, with a number of major projects underway across the region. Andy brings with him a wealth of experience and skills, which will play a vital role in delivering some of our key schemes.”

Nicola Thompson of property firmPROPERTY firm Adair Paxton has promoted two of its employees to director level.

Nicola Thompson, head of residential agency and Guy Roberts who joined from Linley and Simpson have been appointed to the board.

Ms Thompson has seen turnover double since joining the team in 2012.

Divisional director, William Marshall, said: “Nicola and Guy have shown in a relatively short time with us that they are worthy of these promotions, having achieved significant growth in their respective departments in the last two years.

“With tangible growth across many of the firm’s diverse departments, we wanted to reward them for their skill and dedication.”
