Former college site to be demolished after acquisition

COMMERCIAL property firm Bridge Estates has acquired a former college site in Leeds for £380,000.

The firm has decided the most viable option was to demolish the buildings of the Thomas Danby College in Sheepscar and offer a cleared development site to prospective buyers.

It had originally hoped to redevelop the buildings, but decided that the configuration of the buildings made them too difficult to develop.

Plans for the five acre site have yet to be decided, though a mixed-use development is on the cards for the dormant site.

Paul Crabtree from Bridge Estates said: “We believe that this land will suit the requirements of a variety of businesses that will help to bring jobs and commercial value to the surrounding area.”

Nick Dyson, partner in the commercial property team at Blacks, who advised Bridge Estates, said: “We were delighted to handle another acquisition for Bridge Estates. They are a forward-thinking company with a history of seeking out excellent commercial property locations.”
