Cranswick takes a bite out of the Far East

HULL-BASED food giant Cranswick is benefitting from international sales after already hitting a milestone of £1bn revenues this year.

Revenue in the first three months to 30 June 2015 have been reported as 8% higher than the same period last year, and underlying sales were up 4%.

The firm said that sales volumes in the Far Eastern market “maintained their positive momentum” and were up 14%.

The Hull-based firm has had a year of growth last year, in October the group acquired £18.1m turnover cooked poultry business Benson Park for £23.8 million, which it said was now fully integrated into the business.

A statement from the firm said: “With experienced management at all levels of the Group, a strong range of products, a well-invested asset base and a robust financial position, the Board remains confident in both the prospects for the current financial year and the continued long term success and development of the business.”
