Appointments: Brewster Bye, CPP Group, Bowman Riley

LEEDS architecture practice Brewster Bye has appointed three team members.

John Holliday joins as a senior architectural technologist after a 26-year career at four other firms.

Jonathan Erkulis has been hired as an architectural assistant and Trust Ncube joins as the firm’s first architectural technologist apprentice.

Managing director Chris Austin says: “We are delighted to be creating three new positions at the firm, taking our total team number to 27.

“All three appointments will support the on-going growth of the business which was established 22 years ago and is currently going from strength to strength.

“Having worked closely with Leeds College of Building to develop an apprenticeship scheme at our firm it is a pleasure to welcome our very first apprentice.

“We are very passionate about developing young talent as well as attracting more senior experienced members to our team and we are confident John, Jonathan and Trust will all bring news skills and expertise to their roles.”

YORK-BASED life assistance products firm CPP Group has announced that Stephen Callaghan has been appointed chief executive officer with immediate effect.
Roger Canham has reverted to a non-executive role as chairman of the Group.

Mr Callaghan is non-executive director of Lumata Holdings Ltd, a mobile paid content firm, Navtech Radar Ltd, a manufacturer of commercial radar solutions, and Ceres Power Holdings plc, the AIM-listed developer of fuel cell technology.

Roger Canham, non-executive chairperson, said: “We are delighted to have secured Stephen Callaghan’s services as CPP’s chief executive officer on a permanent basis.

“Stephen has a proven track record of driving improved business performance and the Board looks forward to supporting Stephen as he continues to lead the Group forward.”

Stephen Callaghan said: “We have three clear priorities in the short term: revenue generation, business transformation, and cost reduction.

“Concurrently with these initiatives we need to set a clear direction for the business and this will require a strong and committed team.

“We have the core of that team in place now but in the coming weeks and months will strengthen the team to help drive the Group forward.”

BUILDING consultancy Bowman Riley has appointed Debbie Lewis as a director. 

Chartered building surveyor Ms Lewis joined the practice in 2005, and was promoted to associate in 2010. 

She was appointed to the RICS regional board and is the chairperson of the regional RICS commercial group.

Director Michael Feather said “this is an excellent appointment for Bowman Riley, ensuring that we continue to build on the success of Bowman Riley Building Consultancy”.
