£50m turnover milestone in sight for leisure contractor

CONSTRUCTION and interiors firm Harris Construction Management is on track to exceed £50m turnover by the end of this year.

This would be an increase of more than 50% on the previous year.

HCM, which is based in South Elmsall, near Wakefield, has recently won major projects, including a £7m deal for Britvic’s site extension in Bramley, an £8m warehouse project in Dartford, and a £4 million design and build project to create a 10,000 sq ft storage facility in Scunthorpe for manufacturer Can-Pack UK.

The firm, which employs 50 people, has also delivered over £100m of construction work for Leeds-based supermarket giant Asda as a partnering contractor since 2007.

Jason Adlam, chief executive of HCM, says: “Our impressive increase in well managed profitable turnover is a direct result of a controlled strategic five-year growth plan that has seen us employ ten more people this year alone.

“In previous years the majority of projects would fall within the £1million to £3million bracket, but we have recently secured several new high-profile contracts with blue chip clients with individual values of between £7million and £8million in certain key driven sectors.

“These wins combined with an upturn in the market, has meant a significant increase in the average value of each project we are working on, whilst we continue to satisfy the requirements of our existing customers.

“Our reputation in the leisure sector has resulted in a substantial increase in restaurant work, ranging from large well-known chains through to exclusive eateries.

“We also have a very strong pipeline of work that includes a huge array of exciting projects that will start towards the end of this year and during 2016, so the future is looking very bright as we continue to build on our established and unrivalled reputation for delivering quality projects on time and within budget.”
