Online retailer returns to its roots creating 70 jobs

ONLINE retailer Ebuyer.com are returning home after opening a dedicated B2B office at Sheffield’s Arena Court.

They are returning after nine years in Howden, East Yorkshire to the Don Valley premises which will house 70 staff.

Founded in 1999 in a Sheffield garage, Ebuyer moved from their first permanent Sheffield premises on Woodburn Road in 2006, to a 280,000sq ft warehouse in Howden, where they process over 1.3m orders per year.

The electronics and office supplies retailer are looking to expand their B2B offering, employing more people in the division.

The Arena Court office will focus on SMB sales and business solutions with a specially system designed to bridge the gap between digital and offline sales.

Ebuyer’s Head of Sales Phil Bates said: “The investment in the new office will mean that we’re able to engage much more closely with our customers and recommend the best solution for them.

“This investment in the office and the expansion of staff will increase our ability to be the virtual IT procurement manager for the UK’s small and medium businesses.”

Ebuyer’s managing director Stuart Carlisle said: “It’s incredibly important for a company like Ebuyer.com to continually evolve with the market and finding ways to interact effectively with our business customers is crucial.”

“We‘ve seen the business to business sales sector of our operation grow rapidly over the last two years and opening this new office to generate and fulfil sales allows us to capitalise on a huge swathe of customers we simply couldn’t access before.”

“I’m delighted to be able to expand the company when a number of other VARS are struggling in the market, and opening this office in Sheffield, where everything began, is particularly special.”
