Leeds to host MOBOs for first time this November

INTERNATIONAL music awards the MOBOs will be held in Leeds for the first time in November.
The 20th awards ceremony celebrating music of black origin (MOBO) attracts global stars and is watched around the world. The first direct Arena will host the event on November 4.
The announcement was made by MOBOs founder Kanya King at the Leeds West Indian Carnival.
Leeds City Council leader Judith Blake said: “As we prepare our bid to be named European Capital of Culture 2023, events like the MOBO awards and the carnival will be an integral part of our efforts to showcase the very best that Leeds has to offer.”
The awards were held in London last year and have also been staged in cities across the UK, including Glasgow and Liverpool.
Leeds events management business Vista – which recently rebranded from Logistik Group – has been part of the show’s production and hosting since 2007.
