Amazon to create 300 jobs with second Yorkshire warehouse

RETAIL giant Amazon is to create another 300 jobs in the next three years in South Yorkshire as it opens a second warehouse in Doncaster.
Amazon, which is routinely criticised for seemingly everything from poor working conditions to not paying its share of tax, continues to grow in the UK and this new site will become its 10th fulfilment centre in the country.
John Tagawa, vice president of operations at Amazon UK, said: “Our existing Doncaster team has done an exceptional job of delivering a first rate level of service for our customers and we are delighted to open another site which will further draw upon the strong pool of talent in the area.”
The 250,000 sq ft site joins Amazon’s first site which was opened in 2010 at Firstpoint, a distribution park close to junction 3 of the M18.
The location will become more attractive with the completion of the Finningley and Rossington regeneration route scheme (FARRRS) project early next year, which will create a direct route between junction 3 and Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
