Leeds will follow Manchester "in due course" in reaping benefits of northshoring

NORTHSHORING, the label given to work moved away from law firms' London offices to cheaper bases in the north of England, is a term that can have perjorative connotations.

Freshfields Bruckhause Deringer confirmed in May it had signed a lease for 40,000 sq ft in central Manchester to set up a legal and business services centre, and followed on from Berwin Leighton Paisner and US firm Latham & Watkins choosing the North West city as a low-cost alternative to London.
