Appointments: Rixonway Kitchens, Mills & Reeve, Quality Context

KIRKLEES business Rixonway Kitchens has appointed a new managing director.

David Anderson, formerly sales and marketing director at the company, will lead the £40m turnover business, which employs more than 500 people in the Kirklees area.

It is one of a trio of senior appointments, which sees Phil Bonar become sales director and Kevin Brown become head of merchant sales.

Mr Anderson joined the business in 2007, overseeing the doubling of staff numbers. Prior to that he held roles at Kent-based Marley Plumbing and Drainage and bath and sink manufacturer Spring Ram.

He will be overseeing Rixonway’s integration into the Nobia Group which acquired the business in December 2014.

David Anderson said: “I am extremely pleased to be appointed managing director at Rixonway and I am looking forward to the challenge of leading the business through the next stage of its growth and development.

“I would also like to welcome my colleagues Phil Bonar and Kevin Brown to their new positions, both of whom will bring considerable experience and expertise to their roles.”

Laura Asquith of Mills & ReeveTHE Leeds office of law firm Mills & Reeve has boosted its insurance team, appointing Laura Asquith as a solicitor.

She joins from Harrowells in York, and before that was a solicitor at family law practice Lake Legal in Leeds.

Ms Asquith starts as an associate in the Mills & Reeve insurance team. She will specialise in defending professional negligence claims on behalf of insurers against professionals including solicitors, financial advisers, construction professionals and insurance brokers.

Neil Howes, head of the insurance team in Leeds, said: “Laura’s appointment reflects our commitment to expanding the team in the region and servicing our growing client base.”

SHEFFIELD life science company Quality Context has added to its team five new members.
As part of expansion plans, Andrew White has been appointed as technical and quality manager, joining from Reckitt Benckiser. He has more than 18 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Kayleigh Tate joins Quality Context as a technical operation officer to support Mr White in the technical services team.

The analytical sevices team is being boosted with the appointment of Chloe Marsden and Sarah Holland as analytical chemists. Patrick Bigley also joins the laboratory team as a laboratory technician.

Founding director Kate Krachai, who was recently honoured at the Forward Ladies Grand Final Women in Business awards in Leeds, said “Quality Context is expanding rapidly and goes from strength to strength. Our recent appointments will strengthen the company to help us grow even more.”

Quality Context now employs 16 full time staff across both technical and analytical services.
