Appointments: North of England Excellence, JT, Radisson

THE former education and training director at EEF has joined North of England Excellence.

Linda Harrison previously worked at the manufacturer’s organisation helping firms in the region to improve their productivity, quality and efficiency.

She has more than 20 years’ training experience across multiple industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, nuclear and health care.

Ms Harrison’s appointment comes after the arrival of Andrew Palmer as chief executive from the Confederation of British Industry.

Mr Palmer said: “Linda is a well-known and respected figure who brings a wealth of coaching and mentoring experience and possesses excellent communication skills.

“She is a key appointment as we seek to strengthen the organisation and enhance our offering across the region.”

MANUFACTURER JT, has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Ian Bell.

He joins the Leeds-based firm as Southern key accounts manager to develop and manage business in the South of England.

He joins the shower tray manufacturers from Polypipe Building Products, where he was a distribution representative.

Mr Bell will develop and manage JT’s Southern accounts and building relationships at branch level with retail and merchant partners, as well as independent bathroom showrooms.

Ian takes over the position from Toby Drew, who has been promoted to national key accounts manager.

Paul Crossley, managing director at JT, commented: “We’re thrilled to have on board Ian, a real asset to our team who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. The expansion of the team is extremely exciting for us as JT continues to expand.”

THE team at the Radisson York City Centre has been boosted with two new recruits.

Cassandra Liddell joins the the front of house team as a front office manager, and Danas Michalauskas has been recruited to the operations team as a mechanical engineer.

Two new recruits at Park Inn by Radisson York City Centre loved the city so much that they moved from Ireland and the USA to take up their new posts.

Ms Liddell will oversee seven staff at the hotel reception, after having studied in the USA.

Danas joins the hotel as chief engineer, transferring within the group from the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin.

General manager Sally Hughes said: “Both Cassandra and Danas join us sharing a love for the city. And who can blame them? There’s so much going in in York that makes it such a great place to live and work, and this really helps businesses like ours attract such experienced and capable staff as Cassandra and Danas. I’m very pleased to welcome them to the team.”
