Washing machine revolutionaries sign $1m American deal

THE South Yorkshire manufacturer trying to revolutionise how the world does its washing has signed a $1m deal in America.
Xeros has signed an eight-year agreement with laundry service provider eLaundry.com to provide and service eight of its washing machines to the New York-based service.
The deal is part of Xeros’s Sbeadycare service, which provides customers with the security of long term support and planned preventative maintenance while also providing the manufacturer with visibility of future revenues.
Xeros raised £40m in November to fund the global growth of its patented polymer bead technology and to extend its use to a range of applications.
The most eye-catching use is for washing machines, which reduces water usage by 70% and energy needs by 50%, that makes it particularly attractive to commercial laundry operators such as hotels and leisure groups.
Mark Nichols, chief executive of Xeros, said: “This is a substantial long term contract and further evidence that customer momentum is continuing to build in our commercial laundry business.

“This deal further demonstrates the growing demand for our innovative cleaning system which provides material reductions in energy, chemistry and water whilst simultaneously improving wash performance and fabric care.”
