Yorkshire companies named in top 100

SEVERAL Yorkshire companies have been listed in The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For lists.

The businesses have made it onto the lists for the best small, mid-size and large workplaces.

The Right Fuelcard Company, which was launched in 2011 initially had a team of three has been ranked in the smaller category in 34th place.

It now employs 60 people with offices in Hunslet, Harrogate and York, and has been listed in the 100 Best Small Companies to work for.

Leeds digital marketing agency Search Laboratory has been listed for the fourth time, and family-run veterinary practice White Cross Vets, which has practices in Guiseley and Roundhay has also been included. It expanded since 2008 to become a practice employing 150 people across 14 sites.

York construction firm Lindum has also been included in the list, as well as JCT 600.

Search Laboratory chief executive Ian Harris, commented: “We put employee well-being at the forefront of everything we do. Making sure our staff are motivated, happy, and well-rewarded is fundamental to business success and we’re overwhelmed by the positive response that we receive from our staff year after year.

Skipton Building Society fit the bill for the mid-size list, climbing from 11th place to 47th position. It has been based in the market town since 1835 and employs 1,633 people.

David Cutter, Skipton group chief executive, said: “Climbing to 47th position in the Top 100 Companies list is a fantastic achievement and gives us a real platform on which to build for the future. We will continue to engage with our colleagues to ensure that we make Skipton Building Society an even better place to work.”
