Sale of Space Kraft speeds through

AN education group has disposed of £4m-turnover Shipley firm SpaceKraft.

£180m-turnover RM plc sold the specialist business in a trade sale to a private buyer.

Space Kraft manufactures sensory products for carers and teachers in the special education needs market at its production facilities in Shipley.

A team at Dow Schofield Watts Corporate Finance acted for RM on the sale, having recently completed a raft of other deals, including the vendor induced management management buy-outs of Yorkshire Repak and the sale of Simon Gibson to French logistics giant GCA.

Tony Norwood, Roger Esler and Paul Herriott advised RM plc on the transaction and Tony Norwood of DSW commented: “We are delighted to have assisted RM plc by managing a targeted sale process on their behalf, resulting in SpaceKraft now being back in the hands of private ownership.”

Greg Davidson, head of Legal for RM plc said: “We identified SpaceKraft as non-core to our operations following a strategic review in early 2015 following which we spoke with Tony and Roger at DSW about leading the disposal process.

“They did a great job from start to finish including identifying an ideal list of potential acquirers, managing the initial and final offer process and providing the necessary advice on areas of greater financial complexity during the latter stages of the transaction.”
