Big win for Filtronic as £5.5m deal boosts orders

TELECOMS manufacturer Filtronic has bulked out its recent run of contract wins with a $7.9m (£5.5m) order.

Yeadon-based Filtronic said the “substantial production” deal will see it delivering integrated antennas from an unnamed European original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

The order is an follow-on of previously-announced contracts worth $3.9m and $2m with the same customer .

It comes at a critical time for the tech firm, who last month posted pre-tax losses of £4.27m for the six months to November, with sales down 39%.
