Law firm launches new offices in style

LAW firm hlw Keeble Hawson opened the doors to its new offices at Bond Court, Leeds last week to celebrate their move.

The firm relocated from East Parade to the 5,000 sq ft mezzanine floor of the newly refurbished Capitol Building.

Though managing director Paul Trudgill may not have approved the budget for the delicious lobster canapés, he seemed to enjoy himself.

He told the story of a tuning fork manufacturer with three employees he had worked with – the ‘new guy’ had been there for 28 years. This was the kind of work ethos he wanted for the dedicated staff at hlw Keeble Hawson, he said.

Chris Ward, a former partner at the firm for several decades attended the event having retired two years ago said: “They still won’t let me leave!”

At the event, guests raised funds of £500 for St Gemma’s Hospice.

The firm is a long standing supporter of St Gemma’s – Yorkshire’s largest hospice which strives to provide the best possible care and quality of life for local people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Jenny Dixon, senior fundraiser at St Gemma’s said: “The event was a tremendous success and everyone at the Hospice would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to hlw Keeble Hawson. It costs over £9.7 million to run the Hospice each year, so continued support from companies such as hlw Keeble Hawson is vital to ensure that we can continue to provide this vital service to local patients. We wish the firm every success in its fantastic new office.”

Paul Trudgill, managing partner, hlw Keeble Hawson, said: “Putting something back into our communities is important to us a firm and we are delighted to help make a difference to such a worthy cause. We’d like to extend our thanks to our clients, colleagues and friends who attended the official launch of our contemporary new offices in the heart of the city and helped us to raise over £500 for St Gemma’s Hospice.”

One of Yorkshire’s largest law firms, hlw Keeble Hawson, which employs 250 staff, has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and Doncaster.

They are one of a number of professional services firms to move offices. Last month Squire Patton Boggs moved into 6 Wellington Place, Addleshaw Goddard’s new offices are nearing completion, KPMG has successfully made a move to Sovereign Square and RSM and PwC are set to become tenants at Central Square upon its completion.
