Sixth year of double digit growth for law firm

CORPORATE law firm Shulmans has reported revenue growth to £12m – a 15% rise marking the sixth consecutive year of double digit growth for the firm.

Shulmans has increased staff numbers by 25 over the last 12 months and will be expanding at its 10 Wellington Place home, after signing up to more space at the site on the third floor.

Three partners have been appointed: environmental lawyer Lyn Dario, Helen Hill, a property litigator, as well as commercial and IP specialist Emma Roe who joins Shulmans from DWF.

Profits have reportedly gone up 18%, though Companies House accounts have not yet landed.

Fee income was up 14.5% on last year. The firm has also been involved in high profiule MBOs this year, including that of Moss Metal Finishing and the sale of Yorkshire Repak to its management team.

Managing partner Tim Halstead,said: “We set out six years ago to develop the business by concentrating on equipping and encouraging our colleagues to deliver excellent work.

“For us, growth is not so much an aim in itself, but a consequence of doing those things well.”

In the last 12 months the firm has attracted work from a wealth of new clients, including working with AIM-listed 21st Century Technology plc, bus and coach manufacturers Optare and online betting giant Betfred.
