Appointments: RSM; Harworth Group; NorthEdge

AUDIT, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed audit specialist Natasha Tomlinson as a partner based at its Hull office.

Ms Tomlinson joins RSM from EY where she was an executive director, following almost 17 years with the firm after joining as a trainee.

She has a wealth of experience with a specific focus on advising global businesses, large corporates with US-subsidiaries, PLCs and AIM listed organisations. In addition, she brings a range of specialist expertise in the power, oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.

In her new role, Ms Tomlinson will provide regulatory, advisory and transactional support to a large portfolio of clients and will help to grow RSM’s audit practice in Hull.

HARWORTH GROUP has appointed Andrew Cunningham, the former chief executive of Grainger, to its board as a non-executive director.

Mr Cunningham trained as an accountant, and was an audit and corporate finance partner at PwC before joining the then Grainger Trust in 1996 in the role of finance director. He has previously served as an independent director of The Local Shopping REIT and is a commissioner of the Port of Blyth, a trust port.
He will join both the audit and nomination committees.

James Marshall NorthEdgePRIVATE equity firm NorthEdge Capital has promoted George Potts and James Marshall to investment manager.

Mr Marshall joined NorthEdge in 2014 and his primary responsibility is origination and execution of new investments in the Yorkshire and North East region, working from the firm’s Leeds office.  

He represents NorthEdge on the boards of the UK’s largest independent boiler and central heating provider, Help-Link, and market leading loft and cavity insulation specialist Miller Pattison.

Mr Potts joined NorthEdge in 2011 and was part of the team to close the firm’s maiden fund at £225m in 2012. He has been involved in a number of transactions including investments into leading data management and managed services provider Utiligroup, composite door manufacturer Solidor, and healthcare business Direct Healthcare Services.
