WDH considerate constructor awardAN in-house construction team in Wakefield has won a prestigious national award for a development in Crofton.

The national Considerate Constructor Awards, held in Manchester, saw WDH’s Homebuilder team take home a silver award for Hawthorn Court, building on a bronze award it achieved for Nicholson Street, Castleford, in 2015.

It achieved the award for activities undertaken with schools and residents within the local community over the project’s duration. These included a Santa’s grotto, school site safety visits, a monthly newsletter and hosting a Macmillan coffee morning on the site.

Adam Green, WDH’s Homebuilder manager, said: “It’s a truly special occasion to win a national award. The site was selected from thousands, and the fact that we were potentially in the top 10% of considerate construction sites in the country is a huge accolade. We wouldn’t have received this fantastic result without the drive of the whole team on this project. It is also brilliant to see an improvement on our Bronze award from last year for our Nicholson Street development.”
