Fashion, flashing lights and fabulous hats at Leeds ball

THE FB Fashion Ball 2016 brought the glitterati of Leeds together for some well-deserved fun this week.

Fantastic performance from all the models, the business community in Leeds really let their hair down, flanked by dancers from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Founder and organiser Lisa Darwin stole the show, before and after her costume change.

Alex Pryce of Barclays, who sparkled in a 1920’s-style bejewelled flapper dress, Aimee Willow of Aimee Willow Consulting and Dave Jones of Reward Capital headed up the catwalking professionals, which included Arif Ahmad of PwC, Chris Allen of Blacks Solicitors, and Victoria Davey of Gordons, who shined in a grey silk number.

Black and white themed sets featured other business leaders including Joanna Robinson of Mansfield Pollard as well as Rashmi Dube of Legatus Law (in a fabulous hat of course).

Things got racy when the sparkly Panama hats and chairs came out for the well choreographed routines.

The three course dinner had already been served – a good thing too or no one would have been able to eat, they’d be too busy trying to pick their jaws up from off the floor.Lisa Darwin, Fashion Ball 2016

A three course dinner including a caramelised onion and mature Yorkshire cheddar tart to start, followed by a chicken ballotine with dauphinoise potatoes and red wine sauce. Topping the dinner, a delicious, if rich, chocolate and orange tart.

Every table was in high spirits, and there was ample enough wine to keep a whole hall of professionals at the Royal Armouries’ New Dock Hall quenched.

The after party carried on at Oracle, and there was no doubt some sore heads in the morning.
