Appointments: Accountancy firm welcomes corporate finance adviser; NorthEdge adds to new business team with PwC hire; PR agency expands

ACCOUNTANCY firm Sutton McGrath Hartley has added a core service to its offering with the appointment of a corporate finance adviser.

Graham Garbett, who has more than 20 years’ experience as a chartered accountant, forensic accountant and corporate finance adviser, has joined the firm to lead and develop this new service offering to provide corporate and commercial finance advice.

Dan Matkin NorthEdgeNORTHEDGE CAPITAL, the private equity firm focused on investing in the North, has appointed PwC dealmaker Dan Matkin as investment manager.

Mr Matkin spent eight years working at PwC within the company’s corporate finance and assurance divisions. In his role as assistant director, he led a number of private equity transactions and during the last year oversaw the £150m sale of Poundworld to TPG Capital, the £52m sale of Nexus Rental to Bowmark Capital and the sale of energy solutions provider Mark Group to NYSE-listed Sun Edison.
 
Hepwill work alongside Partner Ray Stenton to help drive NorthEdge’s new business efforts following the recent closure of its £300m Fund II.

AccelerisPR and communications agency Acceleris has expanded both its Harrogate and London teams with the appointment of two account executives.

Ellie Gittings joins the team as senior account executive as part of a drive to further strengthen Acceleris’ digital marketing expertise. She has four years of agency experience in the public relations (PR) arena and boasts a wealth of digital marketing knowledge.

Andra Miclaus is a communications and public relations graduate who has developed her own lifestyle blog. She joined the agency following an internship with its Acceleris Academy which builds the skills of students and graduates with the aim of helping them into careers in PR.

In addition to the new appointments, Alex Whitaker has been promoted to senior account executive. He joined Acceleris in 2014 following a successful work placement within the Acceleris Academy.
