Restructure and investment just the ticket for BemroseBooth Paragon

TICKETING and card manufacturer BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP) is to create jobs as part of a restructure which includes major investment at its Hull site.

Following its acquisition of the trade and assets of Lincolnshire-based Magnadata in August 2015, BBP said it is consolidating its sites to create “greater efficiencies for clients.”

There will be a technology centre in Boston and manufacturing of all magnetic products and paper based items will move to Hull, making it one of the largest suppliers of tickets in Europe.

Nearly 20 jobs will be created at the site on Stockholm Road, with the company moving all heavy production capabilities from Boston over the coming weeks.

Rob Burgin, general manager of BBP, said: “Our traditional magnetic products remain essential to us and our clients, but we recognise the need to innovate and be at the forefront of the provision of new technologies and services, which will allow our clients to introduce a seamless integrated journey when it comes to their ticketing requirements.

“Whilst we already provide magnetic and contactless solutions to a number of major cities in North America, our investment plans will support significant export growth. This is an exciting time for our business and we have the full support of the wider group in achieving our goals of traditional ticket manufacturing efficiency, while developing a portfolio of products and services for the future.”

Paragon’s two US businesses have come together to form Paragon Magnadata Inc, based in New Jersey, with technical and sales personnel on the East and West coasts.

Paragon has more than 4,000 employees in over 150 locations across 45 countries.

Magnadata is now a trading division of Paragon’s Hull-based transit and parking print specialist BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), which produces 800 million magnetic tickets a year to the UK rail network alone.
