Oulton Hall raises glass to restaurant investment

OULTON HALL, the four-star hotel in Leeds, has unveiled a new look for The Claret Jug restaurant following significant investment.

Previously a brasserie style restaurant, the hotel said the new clubhouse aims to be a “warm and welcoming eatery”, ideal for a casual bite to eat in the day, or a meal out with friends and family in the evening, complementing Oulton Hall’s luxury dining experience at The Calverley Grill.

The new menu was created by Steve Collinson, who returned to the hotel as executive head chef late last year, with big ambitions to put the hotel’s restaurants on the gastronomic map for Yorkshire diners.

Recently appointed restaurant manager Abi Harris, who joins from Intercontinental Hotels, will oversee the launch alongside Mr Collinson, as well as the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

Ms Harris said: “We’ve put a lot of work into creating a restaurant with a relaxed, informal atmosphere that works for everyone, whether families or couples, hotel guests grabbing a quick lunch or locals looking for a little mid-week indulgence.

“The new menu has been developed to appeal to a wide range of guests, and the aim is to create something simple and delicious by using only the best ingredients prepared to perfection.”

Claire Steven, general manager at Oulton Hall, added: “We’re thrilled to have our outstanding new team on board. The combination of our warm welcome and the restaurant’s stunning surroundings, overlooking the landscaped Oulton estate, means we’re confident that we can offer a restaurant that provides a laid-back, friendly dining experience for everyone who decides to visit The Claret Jug.”
