Appointments: New football posts for Yorkshire lawyer; Law firm boosts private client team; Senior corporate finance hire; and more

LAWYER Peter McCormick has been appointed to five new roles by the Football Association.

Mr McCormick is one of two Premier League members of the F.A. board and has worked with the Premier League for more than 20 years, including in two of his current roles as chairman of the Football Board and chairman of the Legal Advisory Group.

He has now been made a member of the F.A. Football Regulatory Authority, which is responsible for regulatory, disciplinary and rule-making for football played in England. He was appointed to this new role by the Premier League and F.A. Professional Game Board.

The authority is chaired by former Blackburn Rovers chairman Robert Coar and members include World Cup referee David Elleray and former England player Graeme Le Saux.

He has also been appointed chairman of the F.A. International Committee, responsible for managing F.A. representation at England matches away from Wembley, including during the Euro 2016 tournament.

He has become a member of the F.A. Committees Appointment Panel, which examines applications to become a member of any F.A. Committee, and of the F.A. Protocol Committee which determines all issues relating to the privileges of council members, liaises on issues affecting the relationship between council members and staff and considers applications for membership to the council.

His new roles are completed by his appointment to the F.A. Remuneration Committee which rules on remuneration for senior staff and appointments at the F.A.

Rachel Macintosh.  Mills and ReeveTHE Leeds office of law firm Mills & Reeve has expanded its private client team with the appointment of Rachel Macintosh.

She has joined the team as an associate from the Leeds office of Weightmans where she was a solicitor in the wills, trusts and probate team.

Ms Macintosh will work alongside Julia Rangecroft, Ellie Milner and Andrew Playle who recently joined the Mills & Reeve team as a partner from Bond Dickinson.

Neil Large and Richard Marshall Lupton FawcettLUPTON Fawcett Denison Till, the Sheffield, Leeds and York-based commercial law firm, has welcomed senior corporate finance lawyer Neil Large, who will be based in its Sheffield office.

Mr Large is a well-known legal adviser to businesses in the North and was previously at Taylor & Emmett.

He has more than 20 years experience in negotiating the acquisition and sales of businesses, advising on shareholder and partnership buyouts, dealing with complex M&A, finance and restructuring transactions and handling corporate advisory issues.
