Hydraulics firm powers into Yorkshire creating jobs

JOBS will be created a County Durham firm which is adding to its operations with a new site in Bradford.

Quick Hydraulics, which was acquired by Altec Engineering in 2015, has also announced expansion into Teesside.

Its Bradford operations will include a hydraulic service and repair workshop and training, and create eight jobs initially.

Along with its sister company, precision engineering firm Sigma Technologies, Quick Hydraulics is opening as part of Altec Engineering Group’s 21,000 sq ft workshop on Euroway Industrial Estate.

The team will be overseen by business development manager, Mike Goldsworthy.

35 year-old Quick Hydraulics was founded on Tyneside has a client book including Nissan, Caterpillar, British Engineering, Siemens Energy, Hartlepool Power Station and SMD.

Andrew Esson, managing director of Quick Hydraulics, said: “Quick Hydraulics has been helping industry in the North East keep their hydraulic equipment running for more than 30 years, and training our customer’s engineers for more than 20 years. Altec Engineering’s investment in a new factory on the Euroway Industrial Estate near Bradford is a perfect opportunity for us to bring our high-quality hydraulic capability to Yorkshire and the Humber.”

The Altec Engineering Group includes Hydrofit, a specialist in the design and manufacture of large and complex bespoke hydraulic systems, which has existing offices in Wakefield.

In addition to the Quick Hydraulics facilities in North Shields, Aberdeen, there are additional manufacturing sites in Bowburn, Tanfield Lea, and West Yorkshire.
