Sports chain launches £2m Leeds gym
THE gym market in Leeds is about to get more saturated with the announcement that a £2m gym from JD Sports, creating 15 jobs.
The JD Gyms brand is part of the sportswear chain’s expansion.
It will be transforming a 30,000 sq ft site at Prospect Park near the Lucozade PowerLeague venue, and work has already begun on site.
The £2m gym will open in October, with 250 pieces of cardio, strength and functional fitness equipment, with saunas, a sprint track, prowler track a free weights area and boot camp zone.
A large studio and spin studio will play host to over 250 classes a month, all of which are at no extra cost.
Managing director, Alun Peacock, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing a brand new, low cost gym with a difference to Leeds.
“We’ll be offering exceptional fitness facilities, an unrivalled class timetable, luxury surroundings and saunas in a convenient location on a highly affordable, non-contract basis. A gym of this caliber in this area has been a long time coming, feedback from local residents has been incredible. We cannot wait to open the doors in October.”
