Glass manufacturer takes on 40,000 sq ft at industrial zone

AN expanding glass manufacturer has more than doubled its factory space in Morley following major growth.

Morley Glass, which manufactures bi-folding door blinds, double glazing, conservatories and decorative glass, has agreed to take on 39,000 sq ft at Leeds 27 Industrial Estate.

The business is relocating from its 15,000 sq ft site at Millshaw Park in Leeds.

Ian Short, managing director of Morley Glass, said: “The popularity of our Uni-Blinds sealed units with Screenline integral blinds inside has increased demand so much that we needed a larger factory.

“The new premises will enable us to put in an extra production line for our specialist product offering…and enhance our position as the UK’s biggest manufacturer and supplier of this high quality Italian home improvement accessory. We’ll also be adding a few new products to our range.”

Bilfinger GVA is letting agent on the estate and led on the deal.

Rob Oliver, director at Bilfinger GVA, letting agents for the landlord InfraRed Capital Partners, added: “We took Units 2 and 3 at Leeds 27 Industrial Estate back from a previous tenant and have undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment, including a new roof.

“We are delighted to welcome Morley Glass to the estate, and it is always great to see a local manufacturer expanding its operation.”

Morley Glass was advised by Lindsay Texel and Amy Silverwood of Leeds law firm Clarion.
