Winter programme jets off at Leeds Bradford Airport

LEEDS-BASED airline Jet2 is launching two new destinations and adding thousands of seats from Leeds Bradford International as part of its winter programme.

Flights to Berlin and Grenoble in France will add to its offering from the regional airport.

Winter sun destinations have also proven popular and Jet2 is adding more seats to its beach break destinations this year including the Canary Islands, Alicante and Faro.

The airline is adding 400,000 seats from the end of October as part of its biggest ever season

Steve Heapy, chief executive officer, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “This is by far our biggest winter programme to date. The number of Yorkshire people jetting away for some much-needed winter sunshine means we are seeing spectacular growth, and we now have over 200,000 winter sun seats to popular holiday hotspots such as Alicante, the Canary Islands and the Algarve.”

“It isn’t just the sunshine that is driving growth, as our ski and city break destinations are on the up too. As a result we are adding new winter routes including Berlin and Grenoble. When you combine these new routes with the success of our other winter destinations then it puts us in a very strong position to enjoy our most successful winter yet.”
