Appointments: Senior promotions at Deloitte; New recruit for investment management firm; Chairman appointed at healthcare company

DELOITTE has promoted one new partner and five directors in the Leeds office.
Chris Wildsmith has been promoted to partner in transaction services. 

Mr Wildsmith has been with the firm for 16 years, 12 of those in transaction services working on over 80 transactions. He specialises in working with clients in the financial services sector.

The promoted directors include Charlotte Desourdy, Audit & Risk Advisory; Matthew Nicholson, Financial Advisory; Elizabeth Simpson, Tax; Andrew Watford, Tax; and Louise Hunter, Audit & Risk Advisory.

Nationally the firm has promoted 80 new partners – 24 in the consulting service line, 20 in Financial Advisory, 18 in audit & risk advisory, 17 in tax and one partner promotion in Internal Client Services.

Phil Harris Brown and ShipleyBROWN SHIPLEY, the wealth planning, investment management and private banking specialist, has hired Phil Harris as a client director in its Leeds office.

Mr Harris has over ten years’ experience in the financial services industry having worked across a number of roles at HSBC, including most recently director and senior private banker.

JRI Orthopaedics has appointed chairman Frank Collins HEALTH CARE company JRI Orthopaedics has appointed a chairman.

Frank Collins brings a wealth of experience in the medical devices and orthopaedic sector, having worked for most of his career at senior levels in UK-based healthcare organisations.

He also has significant international experience drawn from his time overseeing divisions and companies in Australia, Germany and France as well as managing commercial relationships with partners in many countries.

“I am delighted to join the JRI Board as its non-executive chairman,” said Mr Collins. “The company is well known as a highly regarded and well established developer and provider of top quality orthopaedic implants and I feel privileged to have been invited to help contribute to its future development.”

Sheffield-based JRI Orthopaedics designs, develops and manufactures orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments.

It was the first company in world orthopedics to produce a hip implant with a Hydroxyapatite coating enabling a biological bond with the patient’s bone and so the prospect of a hip for life.
