30 jobs cut after security firm loses major contract

THE workforce at a Bradford security firm has been diminished following the loss of a major contract.

Kings Security lost a large national contract with The Co-operative after a competitive tender process.

Now, more than 30 jobs are expected to be lost following a “difficult” consultation with several of the company’s departments.

A further 68 staff were affected by the contract loss, and have TUPE to the new contractors, a standard practice in the industry.

Anthony King, chief executive of Kings Security said: “We take great pride in [our] staff, investing heavily in training and development and has won several awards for employee initiatives in recent years.

“Sometimes you cannot always be the cheapest, but that was our price to do a quality job and this time we had to walk away.”
