Fine food retailer launches North Yorkshire store

A FINE food store in Boroughbridge has opened its doors offering fresh local produce and artisan baking.

FINK, based on the high street, was ormerly known as The Fruit Basket, but under new ownership from Hugh Fink and Sharon Longcroft, the store has taken on a new lease of life.

“We bought the shop a couple of years ago”, says Ms Longcroft, who also runs a picture framing business in the town.

“And have been developing it ever since. We decided to give it Hugh’s surname as it’s short, fun and funky. We want people to know that we stock ‘unusual’ as well as ‘local’ and we’re always on the lookout for the most delicious and interesting food we can find.”

The shop sells fresh local produce, artisan baking, continental fine foods and boasts a counter of fresh fish, cheeses and meats.

Mr Fink said: “I’ve lived in Boroughbridge for the last 20 years but until now I haven’t had the opportunity to get so involved with the local community and I’m really enjoying it.”
