Contractor moves in on £8m Enterprise Zone development

THE 83,000 sq ft speculative development, Kinetic 45 at Leeds City Region Enterprise Zone has moved one step further with the appointment of contractors.

GMI Construction have been hired for the standalone warehouse development, a sister project to Wilton Development’s other site, Connex 45.

The Newmarket Lane site will see a 60,000 sq ft industrial unit built, alongside two smaller units of 11,000 and 12,000 sq ft.

The Enterprise Zone consists of 142 hectares of employment land adjacent to the M1 motorway, two miles from Leeds City Centre.

GMI Construction has started on site and the project will be ready for occupation in December this year.

Jason Stowe, managing director of Wilton Developments, said: “This is another Yorkshire success story as we have appointed GMI to deliver our second high-quality, speculative built industrial scheme in the Enterprise Zone, working alongside our Yorkshire based design team.Wilton Development Kinetic 45 development at the Leeds City Region Enterprise Zone

Roger Marsh OBE, chairman of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership commented: “Over the last three months we’ve seen interest and activity continue to build within the Enterprise Zone and with the industrial property market looking strong, I’m sure that Kinetic 45 will attract considerable interest from occupiers keen to take advantage of the site’s location and connectivity.”

Wilton Developments has appointed CBRE’s Leeds Industrial Agency team as sole agent on Kinetic 45.
