Having joined Clarion in 2008 and subsequently completed her training with the firm, she has spent the last six years working as an associate in the private client practice advising clients on a range of legal issues from wills and incapacity to inheritance tax planning and wealth management.

Viv Wild, partner and head of Clarion’s private client team, said: “Steph has demonstrated real commitment to Clarion over the last eight years and has worked very hard to achieve this well-deserved promotion.

“Not only does she provide outstanding client care based on her sensitive approach and impressive technical knowledge, but she also plays a positive role within the team, for example by supervising and mentoring junior colleagues including using her experience to help them with their STEP exams.  She is a real asset to the practice.”

THE leader of Leeds City Council Judith Blake has today been announced as the chair of Core Cities UK.

Cllr Blake takes over from Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, who has been chair of the 10-city strong group for the last three-and-a-half years, since the formation of its political cabinet which has driven through a range of new policies for cities – including devolution.

Cllr Judith Blake said: “It’s a privilege to take over from Richard and I’d like to thank him for all the hard work. He has led the group with distinction and vision, helping us to develop new thinking that has changed the landscape of national policy for the better and has had significant impact across government.

“All the Core Cities face particular challenges as we enter a post-Brexit world. Our job is to come together to create a vision for a better, more inclusive UK where cities continue to drive social and economic progress.”

Core Cities UK is a united local authority which aims to promote the role of cities in driving economic growth and the case for city devolution.

It represents the councils of England’s eight largest city economies outside London along with Glasgow and Cardiff.
