Merger creates multi-million pound catering company

HUDDERSFIELD-BASED ABsolutely Catering has been merged with CH&Co Group to add a specialist education division to the business.

Kate Martin and Sue Parfett will continue in their roles as managing partners in the business.

ABsolutely Catering is sister company to The Brookwood Partnership, based in Surrey.  The merger will see a company with combined turnover of £200m.

Managing partner at ABsolutely, Kate Martin said: “We began talking to Tim Jones, CH&Co Group’s Chairman, late last year. As we talked, it became clear that our two organisations would be a great fit because CH&Co Group wanted to expand further in the education sector.

“We would also have greater resources between us to constantly develop and enhance our client service and of course, we both share a similar ethos of food, people and clients.”

CH&Co’s Group CEO, Bill Toner said, “This merger between CH&Co Group and ABsolutely enables both companies to combine their assets and talent. We are so much stronger together and will have the financial strength to compete in the education sector even more vigorously. ABsolutely will operate separately as our education specialists. Like the companies within our Group, ABsolutely are established caterers focused on providing excellent food and service with a reputation for looking after clients, customers and employees; we have a lot of common ground to build on.”
