Where do you live/where are you from?

Otley, which is a great place place to live. It’s a privilege to be able to walk in some amazing countryside.

What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

Yorkshire Dales – particularly Masham for the food and Malham for the scenery.

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?

Explore more of the Dales.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

I’d have to say our wedding breakfast at Chevin Lodge. It has great views from the rooftop terrace over the lake.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

Honesty, sometimes a little too much.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.

The Yorkshire Pudding dates back to the 1700’s, apparently.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

It has to be famous Yorkshire Folk; Captain Cook, Dickie Bird, Dame Judi Dench, Jess Ennis, etc. As a Otley resident I guess I’d have to pick the painter, Turner, who was born in the town.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

The abundance of weather!

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

Glencoe. One of my favourite places in the whole of the UK.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

The quality of football. Is that too controversial for a Spurs fan living in Yorkshire?
