London champagne bar set to pop open in Leeds

A LONDON champagne bar is opening up in Leeds at the top of the John Lewis in the new Victoria Gate development according to reports.

The champagne experts, who have their own vintage, own several restaurants and bars across the UK, but the John Lewis Searcys will be the first to open in the North.

However, representatives for the development said the site has not yet been confirmed.

Founded in 1847 by John Searcy, the pastry chef to the Duke of Northumberland, Searcys is the oldest hospitality companies in the country.

It currently operates 29 venues, including a site at London’s Gherkin building.
