Leeds IT business wins £21m Qatari contract

THE Middle Eastern subsidiary of Leeds-based software company Phoenix Partnership has signed a major healthcare deal in Qatar.

TPP Middle East will be delivering a £21m software project to the private healthcare sector in Qatar over the next five years.

Under the system, names SystmOne, medical records will be shared across the country to 300 care sites across Qatar.

The subsidiary has been working in the Middle East for three years,

Mark Melvin, director of TPP Middle East, said: “SystmOne will play an important role in facilitating the collection and centralisation of patient data to better prevent illness and determine developing healthcare trends.

“This contract demonstrates the commitment that healthcare providers in Qatar have to improving healthcare services and ensuring reliable information systems are in place for the benefit of the patient. There is also the emerging eHealth Strategy which will inevitably require providers to modernise their systems in order to participate in national initiatives.”

Throughout their work in Qatar, TPP Middle East has received substantial support and assistance from the British Embassy in Qatar and from Healthcare UK, a division of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

Deborah Kobewka, managing director of Healthcare UK said: “I’d like to congratulate TPP and IIS Holdings on signing this significant contract for an electronic record in some 300 of Qatar’s private primary care centres.

“It is an excellent example of healthcare collaboration, facilitated by the UKTI team in Qatar who have supported TPP over several years to achieve this great outcome for both parties and for the people of Qatar on their healthcare transformation journey.”
