Pre-construction specialist’s growth plans take off

PRE-construction specialists Central Alliance has continued to add to its team following its move to larger premises earlier this year as part of its ambitious growth plan.

To celebrate the company’s move to Wakefield 41 Business Park, the specialist surveying and geo technical company commissioned an aerial view of the city to present to Cllr Peter Box leader of Wakefield Council when he officially opened the office.

Chief Executive of Central Alliance, Peter Bevils, said: “Central Alliance uses state of the art surveying equipment to provide unique insight to enable efficient developments and embed safety into 21st century capital construction projects for commercial growth and the public good.  Presenting Cllr Box with an aerial view of Wakefield provides a bird’s eye view of what it looks like and its potential for future generations.”

Since moving to Wakefield 41 Central Alliance has boosted its technical team with the appointment of William Mortimer, assistant geo-environmental engineer, Gerard Furness, land surveyor, Harrison Clarke, apprentice surveyor and Ferhat Gungor as assistant driller.

To support business growth Simon Firmin has been appointed finance director.  Previously chief financial officer at Mabey Hire, he brings extensive knowledge and understanding of the construction sector to Central Alliance as it looks to diversify in new markets.

The line-up of new recruits is completed with Huw Mullen, who joins as transport manager to direct the company’s logistics and Bev Tuke as software manager will help support integration of pioneering systems into customer networks.

Founded in 2014 by Peter Bevils and Richard Pidcock, Central Alliance works for contractors on major capital projects in rail, defence, oil and gas, utilities, transport and construction.

Recent projects include geotechnical and slope stability work at historic Harbury Cutting, Leamington Spa, for Network Rail and investigations at 35 Sainsburys car parks ahead of installation of click and collect depots.

Central Alliance is looking for further growth thanks having being appointed preferred supplier to leading construction companies including AMCO, BAM NuttallGroup, J Murphy and Sons and P J Carey .

The new appointments mean that Central Alliance is now uniquely placed to deliver even more high profile value, surveying and geotechnical contracts in sectors including construction, energy and rail networks.

Cllr Box said: “The expansion of Central Alliance is great news for Wakefield.  The company’s use of leading technologies will continue to make our district attractive to new businesses and developers.”

Mr Bevils added: “We are delighted with our success over the last year and we are thrilled to be expanding our team and office. These appointments represent the beginning of a substantial investment in the future of the company and Yorkshire.”
