ARCHITECTS have put forward plans for the former offices of hlw Keeble Hawson which would see then transformed into a restaurant and mixed use development.

Nick Brown Architects have submitted planning for the site at Protection House, 16-17 East Parade.

The lower ground floor has been designated a commercial space for a restaurant.

The main building of the 8,040 sq ft site will be converted into either a hotel or serviced apartments.

A new extension will be added to the site which will be used for residential units, a total of 7 studio apartments.

Part of the building, developed in the 1980’s, will be demolished and remodelled.

New access off East Parade will be developed with a concierge and reception proposed

A statement from the architects said: “The project vision is to create a unique and inspirational development and inject a new lease of life into the existing building that sits within an area of significant historic value.

“The design approach is to reinforce the character of the area and surround buildings.”

hlw Keeble Hawson announced their move to Bond Court offices in January, completing the relocation in May 2016.
