Major brands sign up to £120m retail development

RETAIL brands Outfit and Superdrug are to open at the £120m Flemingate shopping centre in Beverley, joining a host of high street names.

Fashion retailer Outfit will create 40 jobs when it opens its doors at the retail and leisure development on October 8.

Health and beauty retailer Superdrug is also to open at Flemingate. The new 4,000 sq ft store will be in addition to Superdrug’s other location in Toll Gavel, Beverley.

Outfit’s 10,300 sq ft will stock high street womenswear and menswear names from across fashion giant Arcadia’s portfolio of brands, including Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Wallis, and Burton.

The brands follow the recent additions of Baytree Interiors, Peacocks and River Island, which opened last week. In total, the five brands make up 37,000 sq ft of new retail lettings at Flemingate in the past two months.

David Donkin, property director of Hull-based Wykeland Group, owner and developer of Flemingate, said: “Superdrug’s decision to expand its regional presence with a store at Flemingate demonstrates the status the centre has quickly achieved as a vital retail destination in East Yorkshire and the Humber.

“Outfit will further enhance our line-up, adding a host of great brands under one roof.  With the recent openings of Peacocks and River Island, Flemingate’s fashion offer continues to grow in strength, variety and appeal.”

The Flemingate development – Beverley’s largest-ever regeneration scheme – includes brands such as Debenhams and H&M and is also home to the East Riding College campus, an 80-bed Premier Inn hotel and six-screen digital cinema, Parkway.
