Dressing down for TripAdvisor critic of Sheffield restaurant

A DINER at Sheffield restaurant Vito’s Italian got much more than they ordered after leaving a harsh review on TripAdvisor.

The patron, dubbed ‘Mr A G’ was given a dressing down by restaurateur Vito Ciaraolo following a review.

Riddled with spelling errors, the review criticised “discusting [sic]” raw garlic bread, and “freezing” steaks. The complainant continued: “Vito does not have any idea how to cook! How this place is still open I have no idea!”

The owner of the South Road restaurant which says it strives to provide the “finest traditional Italian food with an extensive vintage wine collection” understandably took umbrage with the critic.

Vito Ciaraolo posted on Facebook: “Your Slanderous review comes as no surprise based on how you behaved after dining at my restaurant in January of this year.

“You fail to mention that after eating all of your meal you subsequently did a “runner” and did not pay for the food you ate. Luckily your antics were captured on my CCTV system.

“I would therefore invite anyone reading this review to take a look on my restaurant page (facebook) and view the CCTV footage to witness your disgraceful behaviour.”

In the post he accused the diner of having no intention to may for their meal, he said he had got the police involved who went to the diner’s house to settle the bill.

He finished with: “I have to say you spellings amused me …….severed garlic bread (sounds amazing)”
