Multi-million pound student scheme completes

AN 18-month project to deliver a major student scheme in the centre of York has completed.

Located on Hallfield Road, 326 units of student accommodation built by Eric Wright Construction on behalf of McLaren Property comprises two, four-storey blocks and will serve the University of York, the University of York St John and a local teaching hospital.

The development, designed by Leeds-based DLA Architecture, is organised in a cluster style.

Independent studio flats and shared kitchens are complimented by student and administration facilities, secure bicycle and car parking and landscaped gardens areas for the use of staff and students.

John Hartnett, operations manager at Eric Wright Construction, said: “This high quality student accommodation is designed to help meet York’s growing student housing requirements. We are delighted to have collaborated on this project with high-profile partners and to enhance our portfolio of successful student accommodation in the region.”
